BROOKLYN, N.Y. (June 9, 2023) - Despite a strong start from RHP Christian Scott, the Brooklyn Cyclones fell to the Greenville Drive, 3-0, on Friday night at Maimonides Park.

Greenville did all its scoring in the bottom of the sixth, after Scott had departed the game. The former Florida Gator logged five scoreless innings, while striking out a career-high nine batters.

In the sixth, RHP Michael Krauza came on to relieve Scott. Krauza faced four batters, allowing a single, double, walk, and single in the frame. DH Bryan González’s double plated the first two runs, and 1B Tyler Miller followed it up with an RBI single to center field to expand the Drive lead to 3-0.

That sequence prompted RHP Paul Gervase to come in for Krauza. Gervase struck out six batters and didn’t allow a hit through three innings, but the Cyclones could not muster enough offense down the stretch to cut into the Greenville lead. The Drive held on the rest of the way, en route to a 3-0 final.

Brooklyn and Greenville are back at it on Friday for a single-admission doubleheader at Maimonides Park. First pitch of game one is set for 4:00 p.m. RHP Jeffrey Colón (1-2, 6.37 ERA) is expected to toe the rubber against RHP Wikelman González (2-2, 6.32 ERA) in game one, followed by RHP Tyler Stuart (1-0, 1.43 ERA) against RHP Jordan DiValerio (3-2, 2.88 ERA).
