The Senators scored first, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning but couldn’t expand on the lead and fell to Hartford 6-2. The Sens scored first on a single by Dondrei Hubbard in the first inning, but Erie tallied three times in the second to take the lead. Andrew Young homered in the fourth to trim the deficit to 3-2, but the Senators couldn’t keep Hartford at bay with the Yard Goats scoring a run in the fourth and two in the ninth.

Jake Irvin started and pitched well Wednesday night. He faced 22 batters in five innings allowing four runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out four. He was hurt by three consecutive hits with one out in the second inning. Danny Dopico tossed two scoreless frames. Brian Gonzalez pitched the eighth and allowed two runs.

Harrisburg had nine hits in the game. Three players had two hits, Hubbard, Gilbert Lara, and Jackson Cluff. Cluff doubled in the second but was left stranded at second. Wilson Garcia doubled in the third but was left at second base.

The game Wednesday took just 2:26 one night after a 3:09 game. Harrisburg outhit Hartford 9-8 but went just 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position. Harrisburg left five runners in scoring position. With Young’s home run, the Sens have homered in six straight games.
