COLUMBUS, GA (August 19, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits were shut out for the third time this season as the Columbus Clingstones earned a 6-0 win on Wednesday night at Synovus Park.

Columbus took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Adam Zebrowski singled home Owen Carey.

Jackson Baumeister (4-4) kept the game within reach, allowing just one run on five hits over 6.0 innings while striking out seven. He walked one and threw 59 of his career-high-tying 89 pitches for strikes.

The score remained 1-0 until the seventh, when Zebrowski added a solo homer to left-center field to double the Columbus lead.

The Clingstones broke the game open in the eighth. Carson Taylor connected for a two-out grand slam to right field, scoring Alex Lodise, Carey and Jordan Groshans to extend the lead to 6-0.

Montgomery put together seven hits but could not capitalize, finishing 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position. Caden Bodine went 2-for-3 with a walk to lead the Biscuits offensively, while Mac Horvath, Theo Gillen, Will Simpson, Cooper Kinney and Kamren James each added a hit. Simpson and Kinney both doubled.

Columbus starter Brett Sears (5-4) earned the win after tossing 6.0 scoreless innings, allowing seven hits and striking out eight. The Columbus bullpen followed with three hitless innings to complete the shutout.
