Biscuits Drop Saturday Night Contest 14-2 to Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (August 22, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits dropped a Saturday night matchup to the Columbus Clingstones, 14-2 at Synovus Park.

Columbus struck first in the opening inning when Eric Hartman launched his first Double-A home run to right field. The Clingstones added two more in the second on Luke Waddell's two-run double before breaking the game open in the fourth.

Adam Zebrowski connected on a two-run homer before Waddell followed with a solo shot, giving Columbus a 6-0 advantage.

The Clingstones added two runs in the sixth, extending their lead to 8-0.

Montgomery broke through in the seventh. Connor Hujsak scored on J.T. Arruda's fourth double of the season before Arruda came home on a groundout by Bryan Broecker, cutting the deficit to 8-2.

Columbus responded with six runs in the eighth to put the game away. Alex Lodise delivered an RBI single, Owen Carey added a sacrifice fly, and Jordan Groshans crushed a two-run homer before Zebrowski capped the inning with his second two-run homer of the night.

Arruda finished 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored, while Gregory Barrios also collected two hits. Hujsak doubled and scored Montgomery's first run.

T.J. Nichols took the loss, falling to 2-5 after allowing six runs on eight hits over 3.2 innings. Jonny Cuevas surrendered two runs over 2.1 innings before Columbus scored six runs against T.J. Fondtain in the eighth.

The Clingstones finished with 14 hits and five home runs, including two from Zebrowski and one each from Hartman, Waddell and Groshans.
