Bees announce inaugural Prospect League slate

BURLINGTON, IA – Today the Burlington Bees, in partnership with the Prospect League, are proud to announce the team’s 60-game regular season schedule for the 2021 campaign.
The Bees will compete in 30 Prospect League contests at Community Field in Burlington in addition to a 30 road games against their fellow Western League opponents.
The team will spend the first three contests of the season on the road in Clinton, IA and Normal, IL. Opening Day at The Hive will feature the Clinton LumberKings on Sunday, May 30.
Community Field is scheduled to host 11 home games in the month of June while the Bees will road trip for 13 games. Burlington will host their first back-to-back home matchups against the Alton River Dragons on Thursday, June 3 and the O’Fallon Hoots on Friday, June 4. The club travels to Normal, Springfield and O’Fallon the week of June 7 with as well as contests at Community Field against Alton on Tuesday, June 8 and Clinton on Thursday, June 10.
The Bees will spend the week of June 14 on the road for two games against the Lafayette Aviators and one against the Normal Cornbelters bookended with home matchups against Clinton on Sunday, June 13, O’Fallon on Saturday, June 19 and the Quincy Gems on Sunday, June 20. The following week, Burlington will host a two-game set with the Cape Catfish on Wednesday, June 23 and Thursday, June 24 followed by a single game with the Springfield Sliders on Friday, June 25. The team will conclude the month on by host Alton in-between travels to face the Catfish and River Dragons.
The Bees will host 16 games at Community Field in the month of July beginning with a four-game homestand from Thursday, July 1 through Sunday, July 4 featuring Normal, Clinton and O’Fallon. On Tuesday, July 6 Burlington will host Clinton before road games in O’Fallon and Alton later in the week then return home for a two-game set against Normal beginning Saturday, July 10. On Tuesday, July 13 the club will visit the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp for the first time before welcoming the team to Community Field the next night.
Burlington hosts the Normal Cornbelters on Friday, July 16 before venturing to Quincy the following night then welcoming the Gems on Community Field on Sunday, July 18. The week of July 19 sends the Bees to Quincy and Illinois Valley while the Pistol Shrimp visit The Hive on Wednesday, July 21 and the Gems return on Friday, July 23. The Bees host the Lafayette Aviators in consecutive games beginning Saturday, July 25 then spent games on the road in Clinton (July 27) and Quincy (July 28 and 30) before rounding out the month at home against the Gems on Thursday, July 29 and Normal on Saturday, July 31.
Community Field hosts the Springfield Sliders on Sunday, August 1 before the Bees travel to Clinton for the final time on Tuesday, August 3. The final regular season home matchup pairs Burlington and Quincy on Wednesday, August 4. The Prospect League playoffs will begin for eligible teams the following day, Thursday, August 5 and are scheduled to conclude seven days later.
The Bees 2021 promotional schedule will be announced to fans in the weeks to come in addition to regular season home game first pitch times and ticket information. Tickets and ticket packages (single game, season ticket, bonus books and special ticket packages) purchased for the 2020 season are redeemable at the Community Field box office for the 2021 season.
