Trash Pandas Announce 2022 Signature Events

The Rocket City Trash Pandas are excited to reveal Signature Events that will happen at Toyota Field in 2022. The events include the Return of the Big Ol’ Ballpark Fair in May, a day camp for children in June, and the Crawfish Festival on July 2.

The second annual Big Ol’ Ballpark Fair returns to Toyota Field from Thursday, May 12 through Sunday, May 22. From Monday-Thursday, armbands (which include unlimited rides and admission) will cost $30 and admission alone is $10. From Friday-Sunday, armbands (which include unlimited rides and admission) will cost $35 with admission alone also costing $10. Children ages five and younger are free every day. The fair will be open from Monday-Friday beginning at 4 p.m. and starting at 1 p.m.

Similar to 2021, the Big Ol’ Ballpark Fair will feature rides, games, as well as food and drink options for the entire family. For the opening of the fair on May 12, rides are free from 4PM to 5PM. Monday, May 16 is Mommy Monday, with each Mom getting a free armband with the purchase of a child armband. The next day on May 17, admission is free for students of all ages, from elementary school through college. On Wednesday, May 18, armbands will be buy one get one free. And on May 19, Thrifty Thursday features $5 off all armbands for a cost of $25. Tickets are now available and can be purchased HERE.

A special Aquatic Acrobat Show will take place daily on weekdays at 6 and 8 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays at 4, 6, and 8 p.m. Sea Lions will be on display on weekdays at 4 and 6 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays at 4, 6, and 8 p.m. Additionally, a new Barnyard Show called Cowtown will be on display where guests can milk a cow, ride a pony, and feed animals.

From Monday June 20 through Friday June 24, kids ages 5-12 can participate in a day camp at Toyota Field each day from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $250 plus tax per child and includes lunch and a snack every day. Activities include sports, arts and crafts, music, and much more. This year’s activities will highlight Mexican, Scottish, Italian, French, and Cuban culture with internationally themed fun every day. The camp will run each day, rain or shine. On Saturday, July 2, the Trash Pandas will celebrate Independence Day weekend beginning with the Crawfish Festival at Toyota Field. Gates will open at 4 p.m. Presale tickets that are available until June 25 cost $30 and include a crawfish platter. Presale tickets that only feature entry to the festival cost $10. Tickets on the day of the event cost $15, with crawfish on sale inside the ballpark. Guests can purchase crawfish from J&J Seafood and Bubba Luke’s on the day of the event for $20.

Throughout the day, there will be live entertainment including music, performances, and contests including a crawfish eating contest. Activities include a Euro Bungee Trampoline, inflatable Moon Bounce, a Rascal Obstacle Course, putt putt, and yard games such as cornhole. At 9 p.m., a special fireworks show will end the night’s festivities. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased HERE.

Independence Day weekend will be capped off by Rocket City’s first home game on Monday, July 4 as they take on the Chattanooga Lookouts at 6:35 p.m. The Trash Pandas will wear special patriotic jerseys for the game, and an incredible fireworks spectacular will follow the game.
