PEARL, MS – Bradley Blalock tied his career-high with six shutout innings, Adam Seminaris picked up his first career save and the Biloxi Shuckers (3-4) snapped their four-game losing streak with a 4-0, shutout win, over the Mississippi Braves (3-4) at Trustmark Park on Friday night. The Shuckers also set their season-high with 10 hits and six stolen bases. The shutout win was Biloxi’s second of the year.

The Shuckers offense started early, scoring first after Eric Brown Jr. walked, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error. Ernesto Martinez Jr. flew out to deep right, scoring Brown Jr. for a 1-0, first-inning lead. Martinez Jr. then teamed up with Wes Clarke for back-to-back doubles in the third, giving Biloxi a 2-0 lead. Martinez Jr. also recorded his second multi-RBI performance of the year.

On the mound, Blalock dominated in his second career Double-A start, scattering two hits and striking out two through the first three innings.

In the fourth, the Shuckers took a 3-0 lead with a triple from Eduardo Garcia, who picked up his first multi-hit performance in Double-A, and a single from Eric Brown Jr. His single helped to tally his first RBI in Double-A.

Blalock continued to steamroll through the M-Braves in the middle innings, needing 44 pitches to get through four shutout innings. He used a double play in the fifth to keep the M-Braves scoreless. In the sixth, two strikeouts and a groundout helped to tie his career-high with six shutout frames.

In the seventh, the Shuckers extended their lead with Noah Campbell’s first hit of the season, an RBI single to right that scored Freddy Zamora, making it 4-0. The Shuckers also tallied six stolen bases, two shy of the franchise record, set in April of 2023 against the M-Braves. The Shuckers drew eight walks and were hit once.

Out of the bullpen, Adam Seminaris used a ninth-inning double play to face the minimum in a three-inning relief effort. He struck out five and tallied his first career save. The three-inning save was Biloxi’s fifth save of at least three innings since the start of the 2022 season, and the first since TJ Shook tallied a four-inning save in 2023. Blalock (2-0) earned the win while M-Braves starter Luis De Avila (0-1) took the loss.

Tyler Woessner (0-0, 0.00) makes his second Double-A start on Saturday night after eight strikeouts over six scoreless innings on Sunday in his debut. Braves second-ranked prospect, Hurston Waldrep (0-1, 23.63) makes the start for the M-Braves. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. at Trustmark Park.
