A.J. Lewis Homers Twice in Topsy-Turvy 12-8 Loss

Spokane, Wash. - Spokane got a pair of home runs from A.J. Lewis but an all too familiar bullpen implosion helped the AquaSox top the Indians, 12-10, in front of 3,287 fans at Avista Stadium for Dollars in Your Dog Night presented by TDS Fiber. Spokane dropped to 6-6 in the second half and 39-38 overall with the loss.

TOP PERFORMERS

It was a career-night for Lewis, who clobbered on a two-run homer to left in the second off starter Brandon Schaeffer and an opposite-field solo shot off right-hander Jimmy Kingsbury in the eighth. The 25-year-old is batting .375 (6-for-16) with five RBI in July to boost his OPS to a season-high .805.

Shortstop Ryan Ritter, who departed Fresno as the California League leader in home runs with 18, connected on his first big fly with the Indians - a two-run laser beam in Spokane's six-run eighth inning.

Jordan Beck (2 2B, 3 RBI), Benny Montgomery (1 R), and Sterlin Thompson (2B, 2 R, RBI, 2 BB) all had a pair of base knocks in the loss.
