Dear SeaWolves Fans,
Thank you for your continued support of Erie SeaWolves Baseball. The 2017 season was filled with fun, excitement and memories, and we can hardly wait until April for a new season to begin.
We witnessed many accomplishments in 2017.
Labourt and
It was a notable year for former SeaWolves in the majors. Justin Verlander, Alex Avila and Curtis Granderson were all traded in-season to playoff contenders. Four SeaWolves alumni,
Thanks to your support, the team enjoyed many successes off the field. In April, a ribbon cutting was held to celebrate the newly named UPMC Park. In July, fans voted the "Mojo & AC Rocket Dog" as the #1 menu item in Minor League Baseball. In August, Duke the BUSH'S Beans spokesdog visited Erie to honor the team and its fans for the accomplishment. The team also entertained fans with the largest fireworks show in stadium history.
The SeaWolves surpassed 200,000 fans in attendance for the 14th consecutive season. Despite weather conditions that wreaked havoc on the Eastern League schedule, the SeaWolves drew 214,394 fans in 64 openings at UPMC Park. Despite five fewer home openings than in 2016, total attendance increased by 4,354 and average attendance rose by more than 300 fans per game.
Between in-stadium fundraising and in-kind gifts, the SeaWolves made contributions valued at over $250,000 to local organizations - an achievement that would not be possible without support from loyal SeaWolves fans like you.
Thank you again for your support in 2017. We're already hard at work to make the next season even better. In 2018, we'll welcome the 5 millionth fan in team history. We also expect to have one of the most prospect-laden pitching staffs in all of Minor League Baseball. We look forward to seeing you at UPMC Park in just a few short months!
All the best and go SeaWolves!
Greg
