After a challenging six-game series, the Reno Aces took one out of the six against the Sacramento River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the Sacramento River Cats. Reno leads the Pacific League West with a 68-55 record.

Jake Hager’s five-RBI performance led the Aces to a 13-4 rout over the River Cats Thursday night. The Aces’ offense ignited early when Corbin Carroll blasted a leadoff solo homer in the first inning for a 1-0 lead. Reno went on to outscore the River Cats 12-4 in the remaining frames, capped off by a bases-clearing single from Hager in the seventh to cement the 13-4 victory. The win was awarded to Taylor Widener (W, 2-2) after the South Carolina product allowed an earned run on one hit, no walks and struck out a batter in two innings of relief.

ACES HIGH

Jake Hager: Batted .363 (4-for-11) in three games with five RBI.

Jose Herrera: Started three games against Sacramento and hit .375 (3-for-8) with a solo homer and five runs scored.

Jancarlos Cintron: Belted a home run, drove in two and registered two runs scored in five games. The infielder is hitting .318 (28-for-88) on the road with three homers and 14 RBI in 25 games.

Brandon Pfaadt: (N/D) 5.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K’s. Since his promotion to Reno, Pfaadt sports a 3-0 record, 2.03 ERA and has allowed just seven earned runs in 31.0 innings pitched.

Taylor Widener: (W, 2-2) 2.0 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s.

Blake Workman: 2.2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K’s in two relief appearances.
