BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - With the game tied at three in the top of the seventh, Braves RF Adam Brett Walker took matters into his own hands on Saturday evening. With runners on second and third Walker took Spencer Adams deep into the Braves bullpen in left center field to break the tie for good in Mississippi's 5-3 win.
Carlos Franco got the Braves off to a quick start, when in the first inning, the left handed hitting third baseman took an Adams pitch over the wall in right field to give Mississippi the early 2-0 lead.

Adams would settle down from there, keeping the Barons close until Hunter Jones came to bat in the bottom of the fourth. With Trey Michalczewski and Nick Basto already on base by way of singles, Jones provided the pop in the inning, sending his third home run of the season out to left field to give the Barons a 3-2 lead.
With Adams through six with the 3-2 lead still intact, Joey Meneses and Jared James began the seventh with back-to-back base hits setting the stage for Walker's heroics.
Adams finished the night with 6.1 innings pitched, surrendering nine hits, five runs and struck out seven. The righty dropped to 1-5 on the season with the loss. Max Fried struck out 10 for the second 10+ strikeout game of the series for Braves' starters. Fried came away with the victory and improved to 2-3 on the season. Michael Mader pitched 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen for his first save of the season.
