PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (October 31, 2017) - 2017 Stone Crabs infielders Kevin Padlo and Brandon Lowe have excelled through the first half of the season in the Arizona Fall League.
Padlo has hit .292 through his first 13 games, leading the Surprise Saguares with 11 RBI. The Murrieta, Calif. native slugged .391 over 64 games with the Stone Crabs.
Lowe, meanwhile, was named to the 2017 Fall Stars Game Monday. The University of Maryland product has reached base at a .389 clip for Surprise, walking seven times in eight games while connecting on a home run on October 17. Lowe is the Stone Crabs' single-season champion in slugging percentage and OPS.
Lowe will compete with the West team in the Fall Stars Game, which will air on MLB Network on Saturday, November 4 at 8 p.m.
Former Stone Crabs catcher Brett Sullivan is also playing well for the Saguaros, batting .286 through his first eight games. RHP Benton Moss has worked to a 3.86 ERA over four outings, while RHP Burch Smith leads the team in strikeouts (14).
