The Isotopes (63-68) won a much-needed game Friday night as their starting pitcher Yency Almonte tossed six scoreless innings to lead them to a 3-1 victory over the Salt Lake Bees (66-66) at Isotopes Park. The win moved Albuquerque to two and half games back the Bees in the Pacific Southern Division with 10 games remaining in the season.

Almonte bounced back after suffering one the worst outings of his career last Saturday at Sacramento, limiting Salt Lake to three hits and four walks. The 23-year-old right-hander earned his second win as an Isotope while Carlos Estévez closed out the victory with his fourth save of the season.
The Isotopes' three runs and seven hits on the evening all came in the first two innings of the contest. Ryan McMahon put Albuquerque ahead early with an RBI single in the opening fame.
Two more runs crossed the plate for the Isotopes the following inning on Cristhian Adames' RBI double and Mike Tauchman's sacrifice fly. Salt Lake starter Daniel Wright settled down the rest of the way retiring the final 18 Isotopes he faced.
Albuquerque and Salt Lake are back in action Saturday night with Matt Flemer (8-7, 5.60) scheduled to take the hill for the Isotopes. Right-hander Osmer Morales (2-1, 3.72) will get the nod for the Bees. First pitch from Isotopes Park is slated for 7:05 p.m.
