Angels Announce 2020 Field Staff

The Los Angeles Angels have announced that Andy Schatzley has been named Orem Owlz Field Manager for the 2020 season. Schatzley was the Associate Head Coach for the Harding University baseball team and coached for eight seasons with Harding. In 2018, Schatzley helped guide the Bisons to their best winning percentage in seven seasons. Schatzley played collegiately at Pratt Community College (2004-06) in Pratt, Kansas, and at Lyon College (2006-08) in Batesville, Ark.
Ryan Sebra, Hitting Coach, and Alex Silcott, Athletic Trainer return after joining the Owlz staff in 2019. Sebra is in his fourth season as a coach in the Angels' organization. Sebra served as the hitting coach for the AZL Angels in 2018 after spending 2017 as a defensive coach with Inland Empire. Sebra played two seasons in the Angels system, signing with the Angels out of Jacksonville State. Sebra is the son of former major league pitcher Bob Sebra.
Daniel Ortega returns to the Owlz after spending the 2019 season with the AZL Angels. Prior to his stint with the Owlz in
2018, Ortega was with the Astros organization as the bench and hitting coach for Class A Short Season Tri-City. Ortega spent five seasons as the coach of the Astros Dominican Summer League teams. Ortega was a catcher in the Colorado Rockies minor league system from 1999-2002.
James Fort and Bo Martino join the Owlz staff as Pitching coaches. Fort is the Owner of WNY Strike Zone: Powered by HitTrax & Rapsodo. As the Owner he has coached and trained multiple MLB Draft picks from 2014 - 2019. Before starting his business he was the Pitching Coach for Niagara University from 2012-2015. He also played for Niagara from 2008-2013.
Bo Martino was an assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin for the 2019 season following a two-year stint as the pitching coach at NCAA Division II institution Cedarville University in Ohio.
