HILLSBORO, Ore. -- David Garza hit an RBI single in the seventh inning, leading the Hillsboro Hops to a 5-3 win over the Everett AquaSox on Thursday before a crowd of 3,467 at Ron Tonkin Field. The Hops swept the four-game series with the win.

HILLSBORO, Ore. -- David Garza hit an RBI single in the seventh inning, leading the Hillsboro Hops to a 5-3 win over the Everett AquaSox on Thursday before a crowd of 3,467 at Ron Tonkin Field. The Hops swept the four-game series with the win.

The single by Garza started the scoring in a three-run inning and tied the game 3-3. Later in the inning, Hillsboro took the lead when Jesus Marriaga hit an RBI single and then added to it when Kristian Robinson hit an RBI single.
Garza batted 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Nick Grande, Joe Gillette and Lyle Lin had two hits apiece for the Hops.
In the bottom of the first, Hillsboro grabbed the lead on a single by Gillette that scored Robinson and Garza. The AquaSox answered in the fifth inning when it crossed the plate for three runs, including a double by Robert Perez that scored Carter Bins.
Marcos Tineo (4-2) got the win in relief going five innings. He allowed three runs on four hits and struck out three. Brayan Perez (1-1) took the loss for the AquaSox allowing three runs on seven hits in two innings.
