Bulls first baseman Jonathan Aranda crushed two home runs, third baseman Austin Shenton and catcher Alex Jackson each clubbed three hits, and center fielder Kameron Misner and designated hitter Niko Hulsizer both homered as Durham mashed the Memphis Redbirds 10-2 in front of an announced crowd of 9,249 on Saturday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Aranda got the scoring started with his first longball in the opening frame to put Durham ahead. After the Redbirds plated a tally in the fourth, Durham answered with a five-spot, highlighted by RBI singles courtesy of Jackson and second baseman Tristan Gray while Misner put the exclamation mark on the big inning with his two-run homer to left-center.

After Jackson drove in his second run of the evening with an RBI single in the sixth, Hulsizer smashed his solo homer in the seventh to make it 8-1. Aranda would then go deep again in the following frame with another solo blast to make it 9-1, before Hulsizer drew a bases loaded walk to push Durham’s run total to double digits.

Aranda (3-5, 3 R, 2 HR, 2 RBI), Shenton (3-3, 3 R, 1 2B) and Jackson (3-5, 1 R, 2 RBI) each recorded a game-high three hits apiece. Misner (2-4, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI), meanwhile, adding a two-hit effort as well. Saturday night marked the fourth time this season Aranda has homered twice, with his most recent two-homer game coming on June 30 at Jacksonville.

Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Andrew Kittredge (1.1 IP) earned the victory, setting down all four batters he faced as part of his MLB Rehab Assignment with Durham. Redbirds reliever Kyle Leahy (1.0 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO) suffered the defeat.

The two teams are scheduled to conclude their six-game series at the DBAP on Sunday evening, with first pitch set for 5:05pm. RHP Anthony Molina is anticipated to get the nod for the Bulls and is set to be opposed by RHP Michael McGreevy.
