FRISCO, Texas (August 25, 2021) – The Frisco RoughRiders are thrilled to release the 2022 season schedule.

The RoughRiders are slated to play a 138-game schedule in 2022, which includes 69 home dates at Riders Field. The season kicks off on April 8th versus the Arkansas Travelers (a Seattle Mariners affiliate).

As was the case during the 2021 season, the six-game series format is back in 2022 with two exceptions. Opening Weekend (April 8th - 10th) and the first weekend after the All-Star Break (July 22nd - 24th), both against the Travelers, will be three-game series.

From May 10th - 15th, Frisco heads north to play the Tulsa Drillers (a Los Angeles Dodgers affiliate) for the first time since 2019. It's one of two meetings between the Riders and the Drillers, as Frisco welcomes Tulsa into Riders Field from September 6th - 11th.

From May 31st - June 5th, the Riders hit the road to play the Wichita Wind Surge (a Minnesota Twins affiliate) for the first time in franchise history. Wichita will also come to Frisco from August 23rd - 28th.

The Corpus Christi Hooks (a Houston Astros affiliate) visits Riders Field to finish off the end of June and start July from June 28th - July 3rd. The first three days of July are Stars and Stripes Weekend with fireworks shows each day.

For the first time since 2019, the season includes an All-Star Break, which takes place from July 18th - 21st and splits the season into two. The first half consists of 87 games and the second half is comprised of 51 games.

All totaled, Frisco will host 26 fireworks shows over the course of the season. As in years past, fireworks shows will occur every Friday and Saturday night, as well as on Sunday, July 3rd (Stars and Stripes Weekend), and Sunday, September 11th (Fan Appreciation Night/final home game of the season).

About the RoughRiders

The Frisco RoughRiders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The team was founded in 2003 and has finished first among all Double-A franchises in attendance in each of the last 15 seasons (2005-2019). In August 2014, the RoughRiders were purchased by an ownership group led by Chuck Greenberg. Since then, the new ownership group, together with the City of Frisco, has spearheaded numerous major franchise enhancements, investing over $8 million in a wide array of facility upgrades and improvements, including a state-of-the-art HD video board, sound system, Bull Moose Saloon, InTouch Grille, Riders Outpost Team Store and the world's largest water feature in a sports facility, the massive Lazy River. These enhancements earned the Riders and the City of Frisco Ballpark Digest's prestigious "Best Ballpark Renovation" award for two consecutive years (2015 and 2016). More than 160 former RoughRiders players have gone on to play Major League Baseball. For more information on the Frisco RoughRiders, please visit RidersBaseball.com or contact [email protected]
