CORPUS CHRISTI - Luis Aviles, Jr. belted two-run home runs in both the ninth and the 11th Sunday afternoon, powering Corpus Christi to a 7-5 triumph over Frisco before 3,239 fans at Whataburger Field.

By achieving their third walk-off win of the year, the Hooks managed a split of the six-game series vs. the RoughRiders.

All of Corpus Christi's runs came via the long ball. With the club trailing 2-0 in the third, J.C. Correa stroked a lead-off double down the right-field line. Two outs later, Kenedy Corona evened the score with his fifth home run in a span of 12 games.

The clubs traded homers over the next two half-innings for a 3-3 stalemate. Colin Barber did the damage for CC, lifting a two-out blast over the fence in right-center.

Frisco broke through in the ninth, scoring a pair of two-out markers on a throwing error by Aviles at short.

Following a one-out single by Zach Daniels, Aviles atoned by belting a 2-1 pitch over the wall in left field. The 387-foot shot left the bat at 105 MPH.

Thanks to scoreless frames by Jonathan Sprinkle and Cesar Gomez, Aviles struck again while leading off the 11th. With a bolt into the left-centerfield bullpen, the 30-year-old from Havana now boasts five home runs and 10 RBIs in the last three games. Aviles, signed by the Astros as a free agent on Tuesday, turned in another two-homer performance on Friday.

Blair Henley turned in a fine start for the Hooks, spreading two earned runs over five innings. Henley struck out five and walked one.

Adrian Chaidez breezed seven and did not issue a walk over four terrific innings of relief. Chaidez has permitted only two earned runs over his last three outings, covering 13 frames. He was aided Sunday by an outfield assist from Corona in right field which headed off a go-ahead run at home plate for the third out of the sixth.
