Bark at the Park, Presented by Dogs & Cats Rule, Set For Sunday August 27

The Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, are thrilled to announce the return of one of the most popular promotions at ARM & HAMMER Park. Bark at the Park, presented by Dogs & Cats Rule, will take place on Sunday, August 27when the Thunder host the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
2017 marks the eleventh year of Bark at the Park, presented by Dogs & Cats Rule.
"We take pride in being the most dog-friendly team in minor league baseball," said Thunder GM/COO Jeff Hurley. "We are thrilled to have a great partner like Dogs & Cats Rule and with our Derby Jersey auction, we're excited to raise money for a pair of terrific non-profits in Pet Rescue of Mercer and the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue."
The Thunder will once again wear their special Derby jersey's and fans will have the opportunity to bid on the jersey of their favorie player after the game. Proceeds from the jersey auction will go to Pet Rescue of Mercer and the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue.
Pet Rescue of Mercer is a regular member of the Thunder's Dog of the Day program, presented by NorthStar Vets, where an adoptable dog is brought to ARM & HAMMER Park for a walk on the field. Pet Rescue of Mercer holds Adoption Days everySaturday from 12-3pm at the Petsmart in Hamilton Marketplace in Hamilton, NJ.
Since 1993, Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue has successfully placed over 4,700 Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers Labradoodles and other DVGRR dogs into new homes throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and beyond. These include Senior dogs and puppy mill survivors. DVGRR will be here on the main concourse with information and a couple of adoptable Golden Retrievers.
Thunder fans can bring their well-behaved dog to the park free of charge and enjoy the game. Dogs are admitted for free if they sit on their owner's lap or by their feet, however, if they require more space, a child priced seat may be purchased.
Bark at the Park will also feature a Pet Products Display on the main concourse and a "Canine Cash Scramble" on the field after the game. The Canine Cash Scramble will give one lucky fan and their dog the opportunity to go out on the field for a chance to win $10,000. The contest will involve the dog attempting to choose the "Lucky Ball" out of one hundred numbered tennis balls that will be spread out on the infield grass.
Fans may register for the Canine Cash Scramble at the Dogs & Cats Rule table on the main concourse on August 27.
