That would be the score until the ninth inning, whenTravis Demeritte hit a solo homer of his own off Barons relieverBrandon Brennan to get the visitors an insurance run. - By The Numbers: Leading off the game for the Barons, Booker launched his second Double-A home run 365 feet into the left field stands, giving Birmingham a short-lived 1-0 lead. That would prove to be the Barons' only extra-base hit on the night, as Barnum was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double in the bottom of the fifth.

Bernardo Flores (L, 2-2) was strong again on the mound for Birmingham. Over 7.0 strong innings, he gave up just two runs on six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts for his fourth straight quality start. However, Marlette's home run in the fourth proved to be the decisive blow.
