Binghamton, NY - A bases-loaded walk with two outs in the tenth proved to be the difference Monday night, as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats beat the Binghamton Rumble Ponies 7-6 at NYSEG Stadium.
Derrick Loveless worked a bases-loaded free pass from P.J. Conlon - one of the top starting pitchers in the league who was in the game as a reliever in an effort to limit his innings - that forced in the go-ahead run.
After a one-hour delay that pushed first pitch back to 7:34 p.m., New Hampshire started the scoring in the second. Emilio Guerrero singled with two outs against big league rehabber Matt Harvey then moved to second after a Gunnar Heidt walk. That set up Loveless, who hit a bouncing ball back up the middle to score Guerrero and put the 'Cats up 1-0.
In the third, a solo home run by Anthony Alford made it 2-0 Fisher Cats. The big fly extended the #3 Blue Jays prospect's (MLB.com) hitting streak to 13 games, tying a Fisher Cats season-high.

After the 'Ponies plated a run in the third, the top of the fifth inning featured two hits, an error and a sac fly to score two runs for New Hampshire that put the Blue Jays affiliate ahead 4-1
A two-run sixth extended New Hampshire's advantage. After a Loveless double with two outs, Jonathan Davis hit a two-run home run to left field - his tenth of the season - to make it 6-1 Fisher Cats.
Binghamton hung a crooked number to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth. The first five batters of the inning reached against Jon Harris, capped by a three-run home run from David Thompson that tied the game 6-6 and bounced Harris from the game. On came Kender Villegas, who managed to prevent the Rumble Ponies from scoring again in the frame.
Villegas twirled three shutout frames to keep the game tied and Daniel Young (W, 1-1) tossed two perfect innings in the ninth and tenth to earn the win.
The series continues Tuesday evening at NYSEG Stadium. New Hampshire sends southpaw Tom Pannone (7-2, 3.03 ERA) to the hill while RHP Casey Delgado (10-5, 4.71 ERA) is set to go for the Rumble Ponies. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. with coverage commencing at 6:15 p.m. The broadcast can be heard locally on AM 610 WGIR or online via iHeartRadio and the MiLB First Pitch app.
