Bowie, MD (November 19, 2025) - The 2025 Arizona Fall League season came to a close on Friday. The Peoria Javelinas, with a roster including four members of the 2025 Chesapeake Baysox, ultimately fell to the Surprise Saguaros, 9-4, in the AFL Championship Game in Scottsdale, Arizona. However, several members of last season’s Baysox squad stood out in one of baseball’s most elite prospect circuits.

Three Baysox were named to the 2025 Fall Stars Game to represent the American League in a late-season AL vs NL showcase. Left-handed pitcher Luis De León was one of the three selected and was one of the league’s most dominant arms. De León immediately announced himself to the tune of four, one-hit innings in his Fall League debut on October 8 against the Mesa Solar Sox. The southpaw struck out seven, allowed one unearned run, and was named AFL Pitcher of the Week.

De León finished his Fall League with a 2-0 record and 2.76 ERA in five starts (16.1 innings pitched). His 22 strikeouts were third-most among AFL arms. The 22-year-old capped his fall by starting the Fall Stars game for the American League, where he struck out a pair of batters.

De León currently ranks as the No. 21 Orioles prospect, via MLB Pipeline. He made three starts for the Baysox towards the end of the 2025 season – going 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA (three earned runs in 16 innings) with 24 strikeouts. De León was signed by the Orioles as an international free agent in 2021 out of the Dominican Republic.

Catcher/First Baseman Ethan Anderson spent most of the time he was behind the plate catching De León, as he did for two of the left-handers three starts with Chesapeake. Anderson was also a standout with the bat this fall, as he hit .300 in 19 games. The switch-hitters eight doubles across regular season and postseason action were second-most in the league. Anderson’s eighth double of the campaign helped lead to an early run for the Javelinas in the title game.

A second-round pick of the Orioles from 2024 out of University of Virginia, Anderson was promoted to Double-A Chesapeake in August of 2025. He ended his season with the Baysox strong, finishing 10 for his last 35 (.286) after a 4-for-30 (.133) start at the level.

Outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr. was not only named a Fall Star but honored as the Defensive Player of the Year in the 2025 AFL. Bradfield showcased the same home run robbery skills as he did with the Baysox in 2025, making a game-sealing catch at the wall against Mesa on October 16.

Bradfield’s game-changing speed was also on display. His 17 stolen bases were second-most in the league. Bradfield also matched an Arizona Fall League single-game record with four stolen bases on October 19.

Currently the No. 4 Orioles’ prospect, via MLB Pipeline, Bradfield was drafted by Baltimore 17th overall in 2023 out of Vanderbilt. He spent parts of the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the Baysox, posting a .276 batting average and .394 on-base percentage with 41 stolen bases in 77 career Double-A games. Bradfield was named a 2024 Rawlings Minor League Gold Glove Award winner for his exceptional defense between the Baysox and High-A Aberdeen.

Outfielder Thomas Sosa rounds out the pool of Baysox in Arizona this fall. Sosa saw action in just 13 games this fall with Peoria but still displayed his calling card of massive power. Sosa posted the seventh-highest maximum exit velocity of any AFL hitter, per Prospect Savant, at 113.7 miles per hour. His average exit velocity also registered in the top 33% of hitters.

Sosa also showcased his power as a participant in the AFL’s Home Run Derby.

Still just 20 years of age, Sosa was signed by the Orioles in 2022 out of the Dominican Republic. He was promoted to Double-A Chesapeake on September 2 of this year and swatted a pair of homers in 11 games with the Baysox, including a home run in his first Double-A plate appearance.

Other Former Baysox in Fall/Winter League Action

2025 Baysox right-hander Yaqui Rivera is currently pitching in the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM). Rivera has posted a 3.86 ERA with five strikeouts across seven appearances (seven innings) after notching a 3.97 ERA in his debut season with the Baysox in 2025. The LIDOM regular season ends in late December, with postseason play lasting through late January.

2023-25 Baysox alum TT Bowens and 2023-24 Baysox right-hander Carlos Tavera are currently playing in the Mexican Pacific League (LMP). Bowens has hit .260 with seven doubles in 22 games, while Tavera has struck out 10 batters in his first two starts. The LMP regular season ends on December 30.
