Zimmerman drives in two runs in the win

(Lansing, MI) - The Burlington Bees (10-15) won a back and forth affair with the Lansing Lugnuts (15-12), 4-3, on Saturday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.

(Lansing, MI) - The Burlington Bees (10-15) won a back and forth affair with the Lansing Lugnuts (15-12), 4-3, on Saturday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.

The Bees took the lead first in the fourth inning, their first lead since Wednesday. Brennon Lund opened the inning by drawing a walk and stealing second base. After moving to third on a groundout, Lund came home to score on a Jordan Zimmerman groundout, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead. 
Lansing responded in thier half of the fourth inning. With one out, Chirstian Williams doubled and then moved to third on a fly out. The Lugnuts tied the game when Williams came in from third on a wild pitch, tying the game at two. 
It was a lead-off walk that got the Bees going again, this time in the fifth inning. Roberto Baldoquin worked a walk to start the inning then moved to second on a groundout. With two outs, Josh Merrigan doubled to left, scoring Baldoquin, putting the Bees back in front 2-1.
After Lansing tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning on a J.B. Woodman sacrifice fly, the Bees went back on top in the eighth. Lund was hit by a pitch to start the inning and the advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Jahmai Jones. Jordan Zimmerman then tripled in Lund and scored as the throw to third went into the dugout, giving the Bees a 4-2 lead.
Lansing would hit back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the ninth to cut the Bees' lead to one but the Bees hung on for the 4-3 win. Erik Manoah Jr. allowed just two runs in five innings in a no-decision while Jordan Zimmerman drove in two runs and Jack Kruger collected three hits. Nate Bertness (1-2) earned the win while Kirby Snead (1-1) was charged with the loss.
The Bees and Lugnuts wrap up the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 pm CST at Cooley Law School Stadium. Andrew Vinson makes the start for the Bees against Denis Diaz for the Lugnuts.
