(Clinton, IA) - The Burlington Bees (36-46) came back from an early deficit to beat the Clinton LumberKings (34-46), 3-2, on Tuesday night at Ashford University Field. 

(Clinton, IA) - The Burlington Bees (36-46) came back from an early deficit to beat the Clinton LumberKings (34-46), 3-2, on Tuesday night at Ashford University Field. 

The Bees got off to a quick start on Independence day as Jahmai Jones opened the game with a groundball single up the middle and then moved to second on a wild pitch. After a Jack Kruger walk, Jordan Zimmerman slapped a single to right, scoring Jones, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead. 
Clinton answered in the bottom of the first inning. Luis Rengifo drew a leadoff walk and later moved to second base on a two-out single from Joe Rizzo. Gareth Morgan sent a double to left field wall, scoring both Rengifo and Rizzo, giving the LumberKings a 2-1 lead. 
After Bees' starter Nate Bertness worked a quick 1-2-3 inning, Jack Kruger tied the game up in the top of the third, blasting a solo home run to left, evening to score. 
The game remained tied until the ninth inning. With two outs and the bases empty, Jahmai Jones tripled to right-center. While Jack Kruger was at the plate, Jones raced home to score on a passed ball giving the Bees a 3-2 lead. Bees' reliever Jackson Zarubin (5-1) set the LumberKings down in order in the bottom half of the ninth, giving the Bees a 3-2 win. LumberKings reliever Ronald Dominguez (0-6) was charged with the loss. 
The Bees and LumberKings continue the series on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. Erik Manoah Jr. makes the start for the Bees against Brandon Miller for the LumberKings at Ashford University Field. 
NOTES: Jahmai Jones tripled for the third straight game and scored two of the Bees' three runs. Jordan Zimmerman extended his hitting streak to 11 games. The Bees are now 6-2 against the LumberKings and 4-1 in Clinton.
