The Eastern League announced Monday that INF Billy Fleming was named the League's Player of the Week for the week of July 10th - July 16th.

The 24-year old batted .471 (8-for-17) with three doubles, three home runs, seven RBIs, three runs scored, one walk, and a 1.176 slugging percentage in four games last week. Fleming, who is a native of Churchville, Pennsylvania, had at least one hit in all four games he played in last week and had multiple hits in three of those games. He kicked off his week by going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs in a 7-5 win at Hartford on Thursday, and followed that up by homering in three straight games from July 14th-July 16th.

The three home runs for Fleming have come in three straight games since Friday. The last time a Thunder batter had three straight games with a home run was July 3-7, 2015 when Gary Sánchez homered in four straight games for the Thunder. A season ago, Kyle Higashioka homered in consecutive games four times, including a five-game stretch where he had five home runs, but never homered in three straight.
Fleming's honor extends the franchise record for the Thunder by becoming the ninth weekly award winner this season. The Thunder have also set a new record for the most players named to the league's weekly award with eight different players RHP Chance Adams (April 6-16), RHP Yefry Ramírez (May 15-21), LHP Justus Sheffield (May 22-28 and June 12-18), RHP Ronald Herrera (June 5-11), OF Billy McKinney (June 12-18), INF/OF Jorge Mateo (June 29-July 3), RHP Brody Koerner (July 3-9) and INF Fleming earning it in 2017.
The Thunder return to ARM & HAMMER Park on Thursday July 20th for a series with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Thursday's game features post-game firewroks presented by the New Jersey Lottery as part of Irish Heritage Night.
