Bisons best IronPigs on Saturday

Darick Hall homered for the second straight game

(Allentown, Pa) – The Buffalo Bisons (48-32) got the best of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (37-43) on Saturday night as they won 9-3 behind 12 hits and a solid outing from starting pitcher Zach Logue (4-2).

Richard Urena gave Buffalo a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning when he hit a two-run home run against David Paulino (3-3). The home run was Urena’s eight of the season. Dilson Herrera added a run in the top of the fourth inning when he hit a sacrifice fly against Paulino to give Buffalo a 3-0 lead.

Forrest Wall walked to lead off the top of the fifth inning then moved to third base on a two-base throwing error by Rafael Marchan. Tyler White hit an RBI single to score Wall and give Buffalo a 4-0 lead. Paulino left the game after 4 1/3 innings as Brady Lail entered the game to pitch in relief.

The Pigs stormed back as Darick Hall homered for the second consecutive game to get Lehigh Valley on the scoreboard. Marchan followed with an RBI single that scored Tyler Heineman to cut the Bisons lead to 4-2. Arquimedes Gamboa walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning to bring the Pigs within one run, 4-3.

Buffalo scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to extend their lead to 8-3. Wall hit an RBI triple that was followed by Kevin Smith’s RBI single. Urena added an RBI single and Christian Colon hit a solo home run. All runs were charged to Braeden Ogle. White added an RBI double in the top of the eighth inning to give Buffalo a 9-3 lead.

The Pigs and Bisons wrap up their six-game series on Sunday afternoon at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m.
