Claws Fall to Greensboro 7-3 on Saturday in ShoreTown

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Jackson Glenn homered and Greensboro topped the BlueClaws 7-3 on Saturday to win their third straight game at ShoreTown Ballpark.

The Grasshoppers (6-2) have won four of the first five from Jersey Shore (2-6).

Greensboro opened the scoring with two runs in the second inning off starter Matt Osterberg. Brendan Dixon's RBI single made it 1-0 and they added a run on a double play grounder from Eli Wilson.

The BlueClaws got a run back in the bottom of the third inning on a groundout from Nick Ward.

The Hoppers tacked on two more off Osterberg in the fifth, getting a run on a wild pitch and another on a SAC fly by Maikol Escoto. Osterberg came out after 4.1 innings, allowing four runs, three of which were earned.

Jared Carr's RBI single brought the BlueClaws within 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth.

Greensboro, however, extended the lead in the eighth on a three-run home run by Jackson Glenn off Jordi Martinez.

The BlueClaws got a run back on a Leandro Pineda SAC fly but nothing more and dropped their fourth game of the series.

Drew Irvine (1-0) earned the win while Matt Osterberg (0-1) took the loss. Troy Schreffler had two hits for the BlueClaws.
