Miller Hogan threw a career-high 6.0 innings and his offense picked up a pair of four-run innings to lead the Bowling Green Bootleggers to a 9-3 win over the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Bowling Green will look for the sweep on Friday night, beginning with a 6:35 p.m. first pitch.

After a scoreless first from Hogan, Bowling Green took the early lead against Fort Wayne starter Sam Keating. Osmy Gregorio drew a one-out walk, then came all the way around to score on a double from Jonathan Aranda, giving the Bootleggers an early 1-0 lead.
The TinCaps came back and knotted the score against Hogan in the second. Justin Lopez led off with a single, moved to second on a wild pitch, then advanced on a pair of groundouts. He came home on a groundout from Ethan Skender to tie the game at one apiece.
Not to be outdone, Bowling Green came back against Keating in the second. Jordan Qsar led off with a walk, moved to second on a wild pitch, then scored on a single by Russ Olive. Following a bunt single by Izzy Wilson, Ford Proctor cleared the bases with a triple into the left-field corner. Proctor then capped off the inning by scampering home on a groundout from Gregorio, giving the Bootleggers a 5-1 lead.
Fort Wayne responded once more in the third. Jawuan Harris was hit by a pitch with one out, moved to second on a wild pitch, then scored on a double down the left-field line by Dwanya Williams-Sutton, cutting the deficit to 5-2.
In the fifth, Bowling Green blew the game open. After a leadoff walk to Gregorio, Aranda doubled him home. After Grant Witherspoon reached on an error, Qsar walked to load the bases, Roberto Alvarez singled home a pair of runs. With two outs, Wilson singled home Alvarez to extend the lead to 9-2.
Hogan finished his outing by retiring the last ten batters he faced. After Nathan Witt fired a scoreless inning, Nick Padilla allowed and eighth running run, but otherwise finished off the game uneventfully, locking down a 9-3 victory.
Hogan (2-3) went 6.0 innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five without issuing a walk in earning the victory. Witt threw a scoreless inning, striking out one without allowing a hit. Padilla went the final two frames, allowing a run on two hits, while walking one and striking out three.
