Hartford, CT- The Reading Fightin Phils used a nine-run fourth inning to help snap a seven-game losing streak and beat the Hartford Yard Goats 11-2 on Friday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The Fightins big inning was highlighted by a three-run home run by Aldrum Corredor. Brenton Doyle hit his 19th home run, a solo shot in the ninth inning for the Yard Goats, who had a three-game win streak end.
Reading scored the first run of the game in the first inning off Hartford starter Noah Gotsis. The Fightins added a run in the third inning on Wenell RIjo's RBI double to make it 2-0.
The Fightin Phils rallied for nine runs in the fourth inning to take an 11-0 lead. Jack Conley and Jhailyn Ortiz each had RBI doubles, Johan Rojas had a two-run single, and Aldrem Corredor contributed with a two-run home run.
The Yard Goats and Fightin Phils play the fifth of a six-game series on Saturday night at 6:05. Noah Davis will pitch for the Yard Goats and Andrew Painter will start for Fightins.
