Lewis Brinson had a two-home run day, but the New Orleans Baby Cakes scored four in the 11th inning to pull away with an 8-4 win in front of 3,802 at Security Service Field Sunday afternoon.

Colorado Springs (69-47) jumped out to a quick lead for the second time in the series two batters into the first inning. Lewis Brinson muscled an opposite-field solo home run to right-center field for his second homer in as many at-bats. The 12th long ball of the season for Brinson extended his hitting streak to four games and marked the eighth time this season where a Sky Sox batter has homered in back-to-back games.
The No. 1 prospect repeated his efforts in the third inning, launching his second home run of the day halfway up the scoreboard for a two-run shot to give the Sox a 3-0 lead. Kyle Wren scored on the 13th long ball for Brinson, who became eighth Sox player with a two-homer game in 2017.
New Orleans (48-71) scored four unanswered runs to take the lead before a 1:39 rain delay, but the Sox answered to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. After Nate Orf led off with a bloop single, Chris Colabello lined a double off the right field wall. While Colabello balanced to stay on second base, Orf hustled home and beat the throw from Peter Mooney to tie the game at five.
The homestand comes to a close Monday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. MT, with the second ARC Community Ticket Day of the week. As always, fans are welcome to head to any ARC Thrift Store location in Colorado Springs for complimentary ticket vouchers to Monday's game.
