BOWLING GREEN, KY - Pitching dominated at Bowling Green Ballpark on Tuesday night as the Asheville Tourists fell to the Bowling Green Hot Rods 2-1.
Opening the series with a loss, the Tourists (15-19) were given great starting pitching from Anderson Brito (L, 0-1). The righty struck out 12 Hot Rods (19-15) in five innings of action, but surrendered both runs on as many hits with one walk.
The deciding run came in the fourth frame. Back-to-back two-out doubles scored a pair to give Bowling Green the edge. Asheville’s lone run came in the top of the inning. Kenni Gomez singled in a run as he continues his hot streak from the last series.
The Tourists outhit Bowling Green six to two. Out of the bullpen, Juan Bello tossed in three shutout frames while striking out a pair.
Continuing the road stint tomorrow with a day game, Asheville looks to bounce back with a win. First pitch is set for 12:05 p.m. ET.
