Brogdon Aides In Sweep
Williamsport, PA -- Connor Brogdon continued a series of solid pitching as he helped the Crosscutters to a 6-4 win over the Auburn Doubledays, completing the series sweep.

Brogdon struck out the side in the top of the 6th inning and then struck out two more in the top of the 7th.
Williamsport's offense came to life again in the bottom of the 7th inning against the Auburn bullpen.
Rodolfo Duran followed with a double to left, scoring Stephen to tie the game at 4-4, giving Duran his 6th RBI of the year.
In the top of the 8th inning, Brogdon was able to work around a pair of singles, using the second caught stealing of the night by Rodolfo Duran to work his third scoreless inning of relief.
The Cutters were able to get an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th inning thanks to a bases loaded RBI ground out from Azuaje to score Stobbe from 3rd to give Williamsport a 6-4 lead and give Azuaje his 2nd RBI.
Ramirez allowed a lead off single in the top of the 9th and then allowed a one out single to see the Doubledays get the tying runner aboard for Chance Shepard.
The Cutters closer was able to get Shepard to ground into a game-ending 6-3 double play to give the Cutters the win, giving Ramirez his New York-Penn League leading 10th save of the season.
The Crosscutters start a three-game series against the Spikes in State College tomorrow night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. At Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
Cutter Carvings - The sweep was the first of the season for the Crosscutters since sweeping the Batavia Muckdogs on July 21-23...
