Captain America To Highlight Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond Night

Bridgewater, New Jersey – The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, will host Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond Night at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday, June 24. The Patriots take on the Hartford Yard Goats (Colorado Rockies) at 7:05 pm.
Through a special partnership with MiLB, the Patriots have joined close to 100 minor league teams to host a Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond Night.
Patriots players and coaches will be wearing themed jerseys in the style of Sam Wilson’s Captain America.
Fans will be able to meet Captain America and take pictures on the main concourse during the game.
“MiLB’s new partnership with Marvel Entertainment brings together two storied brands who create memories that are passed down from generation to generation,” said Kurt Hunzeker, Major League Baseball’s Vice President of Minor League Business Operations at the partnership announcement on October 13th. “The possibilities with this partnership are endless and we look forward to some incredibly creative content, merchandise and promotions.”
The Patriots are encouraging fans to dress up as their favorite Marvel character to participate in an in -game costume parade and contest for prizes.
Fans will be able to scan a QR Code at their seats to download an exclusive digital comic book featuring MiLB and Marvel’s Avengers. You can read the DIGITAL COMIC BOOK HERE!
Other on-site activities and entertainment will be added leading into the June 24 event.
There will also be two additional Marvel Super Hero Nights in Somerset this season. Sunday, July 10 will feature The Incredible Hulk and Marvel T-Shirts for the first 1,000 adults in attendance presented by RWJ University Hospital Somerset. Iron Man will be highlighted at the Friday, August 12 game that will also include Patriots Hats for the first 1,000 fans courtesy of Somerset Health Care Foundation.
