The Palm Beach Cardinals couldn't overcome a night where they had just four baserunners reach at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on Wednesday. Surrendering a pair of runs in the fourth and seventh innings, they fell 4-0 to the Daytona Tortugas and saw their winning streak get snapped at seven games.

Starting pitcher Tink Hence provided three outstanding innings for Palm Beach, striking out eight batters and allowing just a sole hit.

Matt Chamberlain, Brady Whalen and Aaron McKeithan each logged hits for the Cardinals, and Jeremy Rivas drew a walk. But that would be all the offense Palm Beach would muster, going 0-2 with runners in scoring position on Wednesday night.

Michel Triana homered for Daytona in the fourth, with Steven Leyton following suit in the seventh with a man on base. Homers accounted for all but one of the Tortuga runs.

Cardinals reliver Jack Ralston took the loss after allowing the fourth inning runs. It was a bullpen day in Abacoa, with Alfredo Ruiz, Chris Holba, Griffin Roberts, Nelfri Contreras and Andrew Marrero each also getting a frame each of work.

The game start was delayed 12 minutes to allow time for showers to exit the Jupiter area.

The Cardinals are back in action Thursday night against Daytona. It will be LGBTQ+ Pride Night, presented by Bank of America and Compass Community Center. Finish Pride Month at the Ballpark with Unity in the Community and Fun for All! It will also be Thirsty Thursday, with $1, $2, and $3 beer specials presented by Southern Eagle Distributing!
