CARDS RALLY LATE AGAIN, CLINCH FOURTH STRAIGHT SERIES

JOHNSON CITY - Chandler Redmond hit a dramatic eighth inning home run to break a 4-4 tie vs. the Bluefield Blue Jays Saturday at TVA Credit Union Ballpark. The late frame blast propelled the Cardinals to a 5-4 series-clinching victory.
The Cardinals (25-18) have now won each of their last four series. The team is on a six-game home winning streak. The Cards have now won 10 of their last 12 overall. The team is a season-best seven games over .500.
Jose Moreno got the start Saturday vs. Bluefield (21-22). Moreno went 4.2 innings, striking out two while scattering seven hits and three walks. Carlos Soler caught Eric Rivera trying to score from second on a Spencer Horwitz base hit in the first to keep the game scoreless early.
Soler and Diomedes Del Rio combined for three RBIs in the second to put the Cards ahead 3-0. After striking for two runs vs . Moreno, the Blue Jays scored twice in the sixth and seventh vs. John Witkowski to briefly assume a 4-3 lead. 
Del Rio added an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 4-4. He finished with a single, a double and a season-high three-RBIs. He, Soler, Redmond and Mateo Gil all finished with multi-hit games. 
Redmond went deep in the eighth vs. relief man Adams Cuevas (1-2). The dramatic blast was Redmond's ninth of the season. Witkowski (2-0) earned the win after 3.1 innings of relief. Will Guay picked up his third save with a 1-2-3 ninth. 
The Cardinals look to sweep the Blue Jays Sunday. First pitch is slated for 5:00 p.m. RHP Hector Soto is expected to start for Johnson City (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. RHP Roither Hernandez (2-3, 4.10 ERA) for Bluefield. For more information about the entire seven-game homestand, visit jccardinals.com.
