RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Flying Squirrels and CareScout, a business of Genworth Financial, Inc. (NYSE: GNW), announced today a partnership that will make the Richmond-based long-term care and aging services company a Founding Partner at CarMax Park, the newest ballpark and community entertainment venue in Richmond expected to open in April 2026.
As part of the partnership, CareScout will have exclusive naming rights to the CareScout Power Tower, which will be one of the most distinct features of CarMax Park and a primary component of the venue's operational functionality and fan experience. The concourse-facing side of the tower structure will contain an accessibility lift designed to provide access to the left field hospitality areas to people of all abilities. Meanwhile, the field-facing side of the CareScout Power Tower will feature a vertical LED display reaching nearly 34 feet tall and more than 8 feet wide that will deliver game information and enhanced entertainment elements. CarMax Park will be the only minor league ballpark with a vertical LED display, further contributing to its modern game day experience.
As a Founding Partner, CareScout joins a core group of companies committed to establishing CarMax Park, a cornerstone of the new Diamond District development, as a transformative catalyst for growth in the city of Richmond. In addition to serving as the home of the Flying Squirrels, CarMax Park will provide the Richmond community with a venue to host large-scale events year-round, including concerts, festivals and community gatherings.
For decades, Genworth has proudly called Richmond home, supporting its people, local businesses and community organizations and initiatives. That legacy continues today, with both Genworth and CareScout committed to investing in Richmond’s future.
“Just as CarMax Park represents a bold investment in Richmond’s future, CareScout represents a bold investment in the future of aging in America,” said Tom McInerney, President and CEO of Genworth. “We’re building a company from the ground up to change the way people think about aging and long-term care. This partnership reflects our commitment to innovation, inclusion, and strengthening the communities we serve – starting right here in our hometown.”
“Having CareScout as a Founding Partner for CarMax Park adds to an impressive list of sponsors that have jumped on to be a part of Richmond history, as the new Diamond District takes shape. Demonstrating just how innovative CarMax Park will be, our ballpark will feature something no other Minor League ballpark has. The CareScout Power Tower will not only help to provide comfortable access to those of all abilities, but will enhance fan experiences all year round by incorporating specialized and event-specific graphics into Squirrels games, concerts and other entertainment events,” said Lou DiBella, Managing Partner of the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
Construction on CarMax Park is underway and expected to be completed before the start of the Flying Squirrels’ 2026 season. For more information on the project, visit CarMaxPark.com.
