Ian Happ waited nearly five weeks to notch his first three-hit game for Triple-A Iowa. He didn't have to wait nearly as long for his second one.
Happ doubled in a run and singled twice for the second straight game, but Salt Lake rallied from five runs down to defeat visiting Iowa, 13-11, on Friday night at Smith's Ballpark.
The Cubs' second-ranked prospect has three multi-hit games in his last five overall, raising his average 48 points to .298.

Gameday box score
Happ recorded his sixth double of the year to right field in the first to plate Cubs No. 6 prospect Mark Zagunis and extend Iowa's lead to 2-0. He flied out to center in the third, reached on an infield single and scored in the fifth and struck out in the sixth. MLB.com's 23rd overall prospect singled to left in the eighth.
It's been an up-and-down start for Happ, who entered 2017 with only 65 games played above Class A Advanced. The 22-year-old had a breakout season last year, hitting .279/.365/.445 with 15 homers, 73 RBIs and 72 runs scored in 134 games between Myrtle Beach and Double-A Tennessee.
After batting .383 with five home runs and 21 RBIs in 29 Cactus League games, Happ was promoted to Triple-A to begin the season and got off to a hot start for the I-Cubs, blasting five homers in his first eight games. The Pittsburgh native finished April with eight home runs and 17 RBIs in 21 games, but he ended the month in a 7-for-39 slump and was placed on the disabled list on May 2 with a bruised left thumb.

Since returning Sunday, Happ has hit safely in all five games, going 10-for-20 with four extra-base hits and eight RBIs. His nine roundtrippers are tied for second in the Pacific Coast League with Reno's Oswaldo Arcia and Christian Walker, the D-backs' No. 30 prospect.
Stephen Bruno, who entered with four RBIs in 25 games, homered twice in the same game for the second time in his career and tied his personal best with four RBIs. Zagunis doubled, homered and drove in two runs and Chris Dominguez chipped in three RBIs.

Kaleb Cowart went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs for Salt Lake, which trailed 10-5 in the fifth and scored eight runs over the final four frames. C.J. Cron had two singles and two RBIs while on a Minor League rehab assignment.
Angels No. 23 prospectBrooks Pounders worked around a hit and a walk and struck out one in the ninth to notch his second save.
