Buffalo (8-10) took an early lead three batters into the bottom of the first.
The Bisons added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth. Lopes singled off Christopher Smith through the right side. Lopes then stole second, and moved to third on a throwing error on Chiefs' catcher
Syracuse (14-10) could not find the scoreboard for the fourth time this season. It marks just the second time all year the Chiefs have lost consecutive games.
