The El Paso Chihuahuas lost to the Oklahoma City Comets 4-1 Tuesday in their first road game of the 2025 season. El Paso’s lone run came on a 429-foot home run by catcher Luis Campusano in the top of the sixth inning.
Wes Benjamin started for the Chihuahuas and pitched three shutout innings, including getting out of a bases loaded one out situation in the first. Kevin Kopps threw two scoreless innings out of the Chihuahuas’ bullpen and he hasn’t allowed any runs or walked any batters in three innings this year.
Mason McCoy started at shortstop for the Chihuahuas and went 1-for-4, giving him hits in all four games this season. Connor Joe went 2-for-4 with a double and is 6-for-14 this year. Oklahoma City starting pitcher Justin Wrobleski pitched 5.2 shutout innings.
