Claws 2-Run Sixth Wiped Out By Rain, Burgers Take Finale 1-0

SPARTANBURG, SC - The BlueClaws dropped a rain-shortened season finale on Sunday at Hub City, scoring twice in the sixth before the rain came, and since Hub City never got to bat in the bottom of the sixth, the game reverted back to the end of the fifth with the

SPARTANBURG, SC - The BlueClaws dropped a rain-shortened season finale on Sunday at Hub City, scoring twice in the sixth before the rain came, and since Hub City never got to bat in the bottom of the sixth, the game reverted back to the end of the fifth with the Spartanburgers winning 1-0.

The game was scoreless into the fifth when Paxton Kling gave Hub City the lead with an RBI single off Jake Eddington. That proved to be the winning run.

Jersey Shore then scored twice in the sixth to take the lead before the rains came. After Griffin Burkholder led off the inning with a double, Devin Saltiban brought him in with an RBI single.

Daunte Stuart followed with an RBI double with two outs to give the BlueClaws the lead.

After the final out of the top of the sixth, rains fell and forced the cancellation of the remainder of the game. Because Hub City, the home team, did not get to bat after the BlueClaws took the lead, the score reverted to the last completed inning.

Jersey Shore starter Juan Amarante gave up two hits over three scoreless innings while striking out five. Giussepe Velasquez threw a scoreless fourth.

This was the final game of the season. Opening Night 2027 at ShoreTown Ballpark is set for Friday, April 2nd against Winston-Salem (White Sox).
