Claws Hold On For Wild 4-3, 11 Inning Wednesday Win

BROOKLYN, NY - Scott Mudler gave a diving stop in the 11th to end the game as the BlueClaws held off Brooklyn 4-3 on Wednesday night in Brooklyn.

The BlueClaws took the lead in the top of the inning on an error. Tegan Cain, who pitched the 10th as well, stranded the winning run on base in part thanks to Mudler, who made a diving stop and toss to first base with two outs.

The BlueClaws snapped a seven game losing streak with the 11 inning victory.

Jersey Shore took the lead in the top of the 10th on an RBI single from Devin Saltiban, but Brooklyn immediately tied the game in the bottom of the inning on a double from Daiverson Gutierrez.

A Daiverson Gutierrez RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning opened the scoring and put the Cyclones ahead 1-0 off Jersey Shore starter Cody Bowker.

Bowker came out after five innings, allowing one run on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Jake Eddington came on in the seventh and threw two scoreless innings, fanning five and allowing just one hit.

In the bottom of the eighth, Devin Saltiban threw out the potential go-ahead run at the plate on a fly ball to right field to keep the game tied at one.

Both teams scored in the ninth. The BlueClaws took the lead on an error, and Brooklyn tied the game on a SAC fly from Yonatan Henriquez to send the game to the 10th.

Saltiban and Shojinaga each had two hits for Jersey Shore.
