Clayton Beeter Named MiLB’s Double-A Eastern League Pitcher of the Week

Bridgewater, New Jersey – Minor League Baseball has named Somerset Patriots RHP Clayton Beeter as the Double-A Eastern League “Pitcher of the Week” for June 5-11.

Bridgewater, New Jersey – Minor League Baseball has named Somerset Patriots RHP Clayton Beeter as the Double-A Eastern League “Pitcher of the Week” for June 5-11.

Beeter, the New York Yankees No. 13 prospect according MLB Pipeline, went 2-0 with 11 scoreless innings and 17 strikeouts in Hartford this past week. He was the winning pitcher in both the first and last games of the series.

On Tuesday, Beeter matched a career-high 11 strikeouts in six scoreless innings. His five scoreless innings on Sunday lowered his Eastern League best ERA to 2.13. Beeter is tied for the league lead in strikeouts (69) and tied for second in wins (5). He is also tied for fifth in innings pitched (55.0) and fifth in batting average against (.208).

After not recording a win over his first 54 appearances in two seasons of professional ball, the Fort Worth, Texas native has won three straight games and leads the Patriots in victories.

Beeter was acquired by the Yankees from the Los Angeles Dodgers hours before the 2022 MLB trade deadline on August 2 as the lone piece received in exchange for outfielder Joey Gallo.

He is the first Patriot to be honored by MiLB this season after receiving seven during the 2022 season.
