Bridgewater, New Jersey - Major League Baseball has announced that former Somerset Patriots RHP Clayton Beeter has been selected to represent the American League at the 2023 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on July 8th at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
Beeter made 12 starts for Somerset this season prior to a Triple-A promotion on June 23. For the Patriots, he went 6-2 with a 2.08 ERA and 76 strikeouts across 60.2 innings. At the time of his promotion, Beeter led the Eastern League in ERA (2.08) and wins (6), while placing second in strikeouts (76) and third in opponent average (.204).

Earlier this month, MiLB named Beeter the Double-A Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for June 5-11 when he went 2-0 with 11 scoreless innings and 17 strikeouts in Hartford, notching a career-high 11 strikeouts on June 6.
Drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020 and dealt to the Yankees for OF Joey Gallo at the 2022 MLB trade deadline, Beeter made nine starts for Somerset last season, posting a 2.13 ERA in 25.1 IP.
Ranked the Yankees' No. 13 prospect per MLB Pipeline, Beeter played a pivotal role in the Patriots 2022 Eastern League Championship. After a dominant regular season, the right-hander tossed five innings allowing only one run in the Patriots Eastern League Division Series win vs. Portland, which advanced them to the Championship Series.
The 24-year-old appeared in a total of 19 games with Somerset over the past two seasons, combining to go 6-2 with a 2.09 ERA and 117 K in 86 IP.
Beeter becomes the fifth Patriot to participate in the game either before or after their time in Bridgewater, joining SS Anthony Volpe (‘22), OF Jasson Dominguez (’21, ’22), LHP Ken Waldichuk (’22) and RHP Luis Medina (‘21). He joins Yankees No. 3 prospect Spencer Jones as this year's Yankees representatives in the mid-summer showcase.
The SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game will air exclusively on Peacock and SiriusXM at 7 PM ET on July 8th.
