Benson got the scoring started early with a two-run shot to right in the first. Then, two frames later, the 20-year-old added a solo blast to right-center. Benson completed the trifecta with a grand slam to right-center in the fourth to put his squad up 11-1.
With seven RBIs, the Atlanta native surpassed his previous career high of five. Benson now has six career multi-homer games over three-plus pro seasons. The 2016 first-rounder had two long balls and seven RBIs on the season entering Wednesday's big game.
