Despite having little left to prove in the Minor Leagues, Yandy Díaz is back in Triple-A largely due to a roster crunch with a talented Indians team that reached the World Series in 2016.
Although the 25-year-old obviously prefers to be back in The Show, consider Columbus a welcoming recipient of his talent.

Diaz drove in a career-high five runs and belted a home run on a three-hit night as Columbus defeated Louisville, 6-1, on Monday.
The 10th-ranked prospect is hitting .382/.488/.559 in nine games since returning to the Clippers.
Diaz provided instant offense in the first inning, taking Rob Wooten's 2-0 offering over the wall in right-center field for a three-run homer. The native of Cuba added a run-scoring single to center in the second before grounding into a double play in the fourth.

Diaz drove in his fifth run in the sixth, plating Indians No. 26 prospect Nellie Rodríguez with a single to right. The third baseman went down swinging in his final plate appearance, but still recorded his fourth multi-hit game of the season.
Last year, Diaz hit .318/.408/.446 with 35 extra-base hits and 58 RBIs in 121 games with Double-A Akron and Columbus and was named an MiLB.com Organizational All-Star for the second consecutive campaign. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound infielder began 2017 with the Indians and batted .236 with nine runs and two RBIs in 15 games.

Cleveland's No. 8 prospect Erik González doubled, singled and scored twice. Tyler Naquin chipped in three hits and an RBI.
Shawn Morimando (2-3) turned in his second consecutive strong outing for the Clippers. The Indians No. 17 prospect yielded one run on seven hits and two walks while striking out two in six innings.
