COLUMBUS, GA– The Biloxi Shuckers (55-47, 20-17) suffered a third straight setback to the Columbus Clingstones (48-53, 19-18), 4-2 at Synovus Park on Friday evening. Mark Coley II made a Sportscenter-worthy catch in the third, taking a home run back from the Braves’ top prospect Eric Hartman by popping the ball out of his mitt, falling to his backside, and still making the spectacular grab.

Mike Boeve drove in his 50th run of the season with a second inning double to get the Shuckers on the board. The Clingstones clapped back in the third with consecutive homers off the bats of Austin Machado and Kevin Kilpatrick Jr. to take a 2-1 lead. Kilpatrick Jr. racked up another RBI on an infield single in the fifth which made it 3-1. Daniel Guilarte brought the game within one for the Shuckers in the eighth after his first Double-A blast, off the bat at 99 mph, traveling 368 feet. Jordan Groshans gave the Clingstones an extra cushion with a run-scoring single in the home half of the eighth.

Blake Burke (2-for-4) recorded his 27th multi-hit game of the season with the Shuckers.

Brett Sears secured the win, with Manuel Rodriguez (10-4) receiving the loss and Tyler LaPorte locking up the save.

The Shuckers are back in action at Synovus Park against the Clingstones on Saturday night. Biloxi’s fourth clash of six with Columbus is scheduled to start at for 5:05 p.m. Coverage begins at 4:45 p.m. with the On-Deck Show on the Biloxi Shuckers Radio Network and The Hype 100.9.
