Cumple 55 años el Parque Centenario en Tabasco

(Prensa Olmecas) 27 de febrero.- Los recuerdos estuvieron a flor de fiel en una breve pero significativa ceremonia efectuada a medio día en las explana del "Centenario", que este 27 de febrero alcanzó 55 años de haber sido inaugurado por el Presidente Adolfo López Mateos y el Gobernador

(Prensa Olmecas) 27 de febrero.- Los recuerdos estuvieron a flor de fiel en una breve pero significativa ceremonia efectuada a medio día en las explana del "Centenario", que este 27 de febrero alcanzó 55 años de haber sido inaugurado por el Presidente Adolfo López Mateos y el Gobernador Carlos A. Madrazo Becerra en 1964.
"Quienes amamos y hemos crecido con el béisbol, tenemos marcados instantes en las tribunas de este inmueble que para muchos es la alcancía de nuestros recuerdos", comentó emocionado el Presidente del equipo Juan Carlos Manzur Pérez, quien estuvo a cargo del discurso en esta ceremonia, la cual tuvo como marco escénico la emblemática escultura de "La Barrida" en la explanada del estadio que recibió la visita de muchos fanáticos y medios informativos.
En representación de la comuna de Centro, el Secretario del Ayuntamiento, Licenciado Madian de los Santos Chacón, deseo suerte a Olmecas en la campaña que está por iniciar, esperando que los aficionados regresen a las tribunas del estadio, "que hoy celebra 55 años de una rica historia beisbolera, la cual es parte importante de nuestra vidas", recalcó el funcionario municipal, quien llevó la representación de la alcaldesa Gilda Díaz Rodríguez.
A la ceremonia también acudió la titular del Instituto de la Juventud y el Deporte del estado, Sheila Cadena Nieto, además del manager olmeca Ramón Orantes y el coach de primera base Mario Ivan Santana, quienes apuntaron que conservan gratos recuerdos dentro de sus carreras jugando en el "Centenario".
Uno de los protagonistas de la jornada inaugural de aquel medio día del 27 de febrero de 1964, José "Chamaco" Leyva, también fue objeto de un merecido reconocimiento en esta ceremonia. Leyva de la Fuente, quien se recupera de una cirugía, fue el pitcher abridor en el partido inaugural que escenificaron los Tigres del México y el equipo sucursal de los felinos en Tabasco, partido escenificado una vez que López Mateos y Madrazo Becerra, develaran la placa inaugural del inmueble en la Ciudad Deportiva.
La casa de los Olmecas, estadio ubicado en los límites de las Colonias Primero de Mayo y Atasta de Serra, fue sede también de los efímeros Cardenales que llegaron a Tabasco en 1975 para luego volar a la frontera de Nuevo Laredo. Desde el año 1977, el parque Centenario ha sido sede ininterrumpida de la LMB, primero con Plataneros, Ganaderos y los Olmecas a partir de 1990 hasta la fecha.
A lo largo de más de cinco décadas de existencia, el estadio ha sido sede también de partidos de exhibición de futbol soccer con equipos como América, Toluca y Veracruz, además de espectáculos artísticos, eventos religiosos y antes de 1975, albergo la vieja Liga del Sureste y los mejores años de la Liga Tabasqueña. Los ex jugadores de la franquicia Juan José Robles Perla y Felix Zulueta García, ahora aportando su experiencia en la oficina del club como Gerente General y Gerente Deportivo, respectivamente, estuvieron también presente en la nostálgica ceremonia.

El jardinero yucateco Wilberth Aguilar, quien espera consolidarse dentro del roster del club en la campaña que está arrancar, reportó en el tercer día de actividades a las instalaciones de Olimpia XXI.
La intensidad de los trabajos para la plantilla tabasqueña se incrementan día con día, bajo la dirección de Ramón Orantes y su cuerpo técnico. "Queremos aprovechar cada instante del campo de entrenamientos, queremos llegar en óptimas condiciones a los primeros juegos de preparación ya con un plantel casi completo", aseveró el timonel de los Olmecas, equipo que se mantendrá entrenando durante los primeros días de marzo, antes de que lleguen los subcampeones Guerreros de Oaxaca que jugaran dos partidos en tierras tabasqueñas.
