BROOKLYN, NY - Ronald Hernandez hit a grand slam in the fourth inning and that was all the scoring in a 4-0 Brooklyn win over the BlueClaws on Tuesday night.
Brooklyn loaded the bases in the bottom of the third when Hernandez hit a grand slam over the left field wall to put Brooklyn up 4-0. It was his eighth home run of the year.
The slam came off BlueClaws starter Cade Obermueller, who gave up four runs over 3.2 innings and took the loss.
Nicolas Carreno earned the win for Brooklyn, throwing six scoreless innings with five strikeouts.
The BlueClaws had three hits in the game, one each by Griffin Burkholder, TJayy Walton, and Scott Mudler.
The teams continue their series on Wednesday night at 6:40 pm. RHP Cody Bowker starts for Jersey Shore.
