SAN ANTONIO - Corpus Christi employed a 10-run sixth inning to blow out the Missions, 13-2, Thursday night at Wolff Stadium.

The Hooks, who had their eight-game winning streak snapped by a 9-0 loss on Wednesday, jumped out to a 3-0 bulge in the first inning. Singles by Kenedy Corona and Joey Loperfido led to a three-run home run by Zach Daniels.

Daniels added a two-run double in the sixth, giving him a career-best five RBIs on the night. The fourth-round pick in 2020 out of the University of Tennessee is batting .444 with four doubles, four home runs and 13 RBIs in his last nine games.

The sixth inning also featured a pair of two-run singles by Loperfido, who ranks third in the Astros system with 57 RBIs in 79 games.

Among the 15 Hooks to bat in the sixth, Jordan Brewer delivered a two-run triple before J.C. Correa lifted a sac fly to center. Corpus Christi capitalized on three errors, a hit batsman and four walks in the frame. Colin Barber began the scoring with a bases-loaded free pass.

Colton Gordon secured the win with five innings of two-run baseball. Gordon struck out seven on the night and retired the first 10 batters he faced. The Hooks southpaw leads the Texas League in both ERA (3.30) and strikeouts (116 K in 90.0 IP).

Blair Henley earned his first Double-A save by striking out five over four perfect innings of relief.

Corpus Christi has won nine of 10 and 14 of the last 19 games.
