Danny Woodrow has been named an All-Star for the second time in his career. He was an All-Star in 2017 while playing for the West Michigan Whitecaps in the Midwest League. Woodrow began the season in Class-A Lakeland where he played in five games, hitting .381 with an RBI. He was promoted to Erie on May 12. In 39 games for the SeaWolves, Woodrow is hitting .295 with 41 hits, six doubles, three triples, 12 RBI and eight stolen bases. Woodrow is a native of Chicago, IL and was selected by the Tigers in the 12th round of the 2016 draft out of Creighton.
The SeaWolves continue a five-game series against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) tonight at UPMC Park at 7:05 p.m. Tonight is Buck Night presented by Budweiser and Rocket 105. Fans can enjoy concessions specials of Smith's hot dogs, Pepsi fountain drinks, popcorn and select domestic draft beers for just $1 each.
On Tuesday, the SeaWolves wrap up the series with Bowie at 7:05 p.m. and fans will be treated to the MEGA BLAST Fireworks Spectacular presented by the Pennsylvania Lottery. MEGA BLAST will be the largest fireworks show in ballpark history and is more than double the size of a normal fireworks show at UPMC Park. Members of the Erie Philharmonic will be performing patriotic songs, live on the field during MEGA BLAST. Fans can purchase a special game ticket to enjoy an All-American BBQ picnic featuring a 90-minute all-you-can-eat barbeque buffet.
